The success of the Michael Levin Lone Soldier Foundation depends on its family of generous supporters and contributions go toward addressing the unique needs of Lone Soldiers. A core component of perpetuating Michael Levin’s legacy is to educate others about the challenges Lone Soldiers need to overcome in order to succeed during their service.
The Michael Levin Lone Soldier Foundation has a number of ways to draw a personal link to the impact of a generous donation, whether from an individual, a community, or an organization.
The Foundation also welcomes and appreciates general donations to ensure that Lone Soldiers’ other unique needs are met.

Shabbat Dinner for one soldier – $18 (feed 10 soldiers for $180)
For many Lone Soldiers, coming together away from base to be among friends is the highlight of their week. Make a one-time donation or feed a Lone Soldier every week or month.
Toiletry package – $36 (provide for 10 soldiers for $360)
Basic items such as toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, deodorant, feminine hygiene products.
Welcome Package – $250
In our experience many lone soldiers and lone b’not sheirut come to Israel unprepared and unsure what to expect. Some even lack the basic funds to purchase daily essential items on their own. This includes pillows, bed linen, towels, blankets, toiletries and socks. Providing welcome packages filled with these basic items will ensure that any lone soldier or lone bat sheirut in need has all the basic items without worry.
Post Army Events – $500
Many lone soldiers and lone bat sheirut find this transition from army to civilian life very challenging. Questions like, should I look into Higher Education? What am I entitled to as a former lone soldier or Bat Sheirut? How can I find a job in the field I want without a network or guidance as to where to start? With your help we want to be there to help guide them with workshops offering advise, connections to potential employers, seminars for interview preparation, CV writing and financial planning. By sponsoring a post army/post sheirut event, you are ensuring that these selfless individuals are guaranteed a strong foothold when entering into civilian life.
Mental Health Awareness Program – $750
In the past year it has become apparent that all organizations dealing with young men and women need to heighten their awareness of increased mental health concerns. Professional staff training is essential to identify signs of mental stress and how to react and deal with situations, when to involve a mental health professional and how to do so without losing the trust of the individual. Sponsor a training for lone soldier organization staff to provide art therapy, yoga and relaxation techniques to help soldiers and lone b’not sheirut work through their issues and refer them to professional counseling when needed.
Special event – cost dependent on type of event
These young men and women come to protect, defend and assist their country whether that’s on the front lines or doing National Service. They deserve and need to be looked after and supported and weekend special events are the perfect time to show them our appreciation! This event can be anything from a BBQ to a Spa night to an adventure activity. By sponsoring a special event you are helping a lone soldier or lone bat sheirut feel appreciated and have FUN! Contact us for more details on how to sponsor a special event.
Friday night Shabbat meal: $1,250
Lone soldiers and lone b’not sheirut have busy, stressful and sometimes dangerous schedules But while Israeli soldiers and b’not sheirut go home to their parents, lone soldiers and lone b’not sheirut often go home to an empty refrigerator and laundry to do. Many find themselves scrambling last minute to shop and cook or find a shabbat meal. But providing a meal isn’t the only need these young men and women have and we recognize that. What we give them is much more, by not only providing them with food but with a place to eat, a place to meet their peers a place to come together to create a community.
Join the party! Let us know when you’ll be in Israel and we’ll arrange for you and your party to attend the meal or event you’ve sponsored!
